Lavenham Literary Festival
We are really excited to welcome in our village the former Poet Laureate, Sir Andrew Motion, who will open the festival.
Other highlights for 2013 will include authors Tracy Borman, acclaimed historian, whose latest book is due to be published just before our Festival, Tracy Chevalier, award-winning author of Girl with a Pearl Earring, whose new novel The Runaway is being published this year, Nicci French, highly successful husband-and-wife writing team, whose latest series of Frieda Klein novels is proving to be hugely popular, and Liz Trenow, local author whose first novel The Last Telegram is shortlisted for the 2013 RoNAs, presented by the Romantic Novelists’ Association. We also have a creative crime writing course with Mike Ripley, author of the award-winning Angel series of comedy thrillers, and a focus on children’s literature, linked to our Community Primary School.

Lavenham Christmas Festival
Friday 6th to Sunday 8th December 10-5pm
Come to the beautiful medieval village of Lavenham to experience a truly magical Christmas. In the historic Market Place there’ll be rides, stalls and entertainment. Lavenham’s fantastic shops and galleries will be selling all manner of essential gifts. Inside the historic Guildhall you’ll find a Craft exhibition with high quality and unique products, as well as a Food Hall bursting with locally made, tasty treats.
Lavenham Christmas Craft Market

The Lavenham Christmas Craft Market will be held in the beautiful space at Lavenham Village Hall
The craft market showcases over 30 of the very best genuine artisan craftsmen and women and will include photography, quilting, felting, pottery, ceramics and original artwork. This year we are delighted to welcome Rothery Textiles run by Lyn Rothery, winner of Country Living's Kitchen Table Talent as well as many other fantastic stalls including Hedgerow Baskets, HoneyBee, Tatty Rhubarb and Fusion in Glass plus the fantastic cafe will be serving sandwiches, light lunches, freshly baked cakes and good coffee. Free parking and entry.

Get Christmas off to a joyful start by joining us for a feast of Christmas music in the beautiful parish church at Lavenham. This concert is always a highlight of the Christmas season! We will be singing a variety of seasonal music, mixing the familiar with some less known pieces, and including both new works and a series of Christmas readings. Bring the family and join in with your favourite carols before enjoying mince pies and mulled wine. Ticket includes refreshments. Tickets £12.
