Our Airmen's bar is brim full of second World War memorabilia and signatures of air force personnel stationed at Lavenham Airfield during World War Two – operational between March 1944 and August 1945.
This cosy little pub is a perfect spot to relax with some bar snacks or a dish from our Brasserie menu
and raise a glass or two in an evocative and inspiring setting. Take time to read the Boot Record, inscribed on the wall by members of the US Army Air Force 487th Bombardment Group, which flew 185 missions and more than 6,000 sorties whilst stationed at Lavenham during the Second World War.
As one of the few sources of entertainment for servicemen based near Lavenham, the challenge was to down three and a half pints of ale from a glass boot in record time. The boot still hangs on the wall to this day.
