We're very proud of The Swan and what it offers to discerning guests. But don't just take our word for it - here are just a few unsolicited testimonials.
| It takes a confident chef to put food as simple as this on the menu | | “......the soup is very good, as is my Thai crab tian with mango and chilli salsa; also my husband's lemon fennel and sun-dried tomato salad. "Just right", he says. "It takes a confident chef to put food as simple as this on the menu."” | | Paddy Burt, for The Daily Telegraph |
| Second stay... | | “Second stay at this hotel and will definitely be back. Fantastic welcome, service and nothing is too much trouble.” | | Guest from Spalding, April 2008 |
| The Whole Experience... | | “The whole experience - the setting of the hotel in a historical village, the old building itself sympathetically decorated and furnished, but particularly the attentiveness and polite friendliness of staff. It was a Pearl Wedding celebration and the staff made it really special - a great place to be pampered and relax. The food was excellent and the afternoon tea an experience in itself. ” | | Guest from Haverhill, April 2008 |
| Fantastic Hotel | | “"Food in the restaurant was amazing .The staff were excellent - they were friendly but not in an over-the-top way. Can't wait to go back for our wedding anniversary in June!"” | | Guest from Leicestershire, February 2008 |
| The Perfect English Inn.. | | “"I loved every minute of this weekend. The hotel is gorgeous. The public rooms are atmospheric, traditional yet with modern touches such as the reception. There was a fire, cosy sofas, wooden beams and a nice spacious bar, as well as a more traditional bar".” | | Guest from London, March 2008 |
| We truly had the most wonderful day... | | “We wanted to thank you and your team again for contributing in making our wedding day as special as it was. We truly had the most wonderful day. Every member of staff was so friendly and the day itself ran like clockwork. The attention to detail was excellent, the food was delicious and the team were professional and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you again the next time we are in Lavenham as it holds a very special place in our hearts.” | | Danielle and James Flitton September 2007 |

| The hotel is a delight... | “Many thanks for helping to make our holiday so successful, the hotel is a delight - the rooms so very cosy. The staff so very, very helpful and the food so calorific! We have had a wonderful break thanks to the staff of the Swan.” | | Group from Wales |
| Lovely old world charm… | “We are moving to Lavenham and stayed at the Swan whilst viewing a nearby property. I have to say that it is one of the most charming hotels we have stayed in. It is very quirky, full of character features and weaving passageways. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We asked for a room within baby monitor range of the dining room and a travel cot and they didn’t bat an eyelid. Any request we made to reception was courteously and speedily dealt with. The food was lovely. I like cooking and all too many places I go to these says I feel that I could have cooked the same dinner for a fraction of the price and better. I can safely say that is not the case at the Swan.” | | Guest from N. Yorkshire. April 2007 |
| Wonderful service… | “My wife and I stayed at the Swan for two nights and had a wonderful time. The room was nicely furnished, the hotel is lovingly maintained and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Lavenham itself is a beautiful town and there are many interesting places to visit within easy range. The best part of our stay though was the service in the Swan. We have stayed in many hotels with work and on holiday, and we cannot think of any other hotel that offered such friendly and informal but attentive and highly professional service. I am not surprised that this hotel consistently gets top ratings – the staff make it a really great place to stay.” | | Guest from UK. July 2007 |
| So lovely… | “My family and I stayed here for my mum’s 80th birthday and we could not fault a thing. We had 3 of the rooms on the ground floor all of which were excellent, clean, charming, comfortable and a joy to stay in. Each room has its own individual charm and are so quaint. The whole time the staff were lovely to us, the atmosphere was so relaxing and the ambience very special. This is a very nice hotel with an olde worlde charm that has gripped us and we all cannot wait to return. I highly recommend if you feel like a relaxing charming break. A lovely special time was had by all.” | | Guest from Lowestoft. June 2007 |
